Who is this for?

As a maker or creative professional (artist, designer, animator, game developer, creative technologist), you can be the lead applicant and lead the research.

As a presentation venue, theatre, festival, museum, or gaming house, you are a required partner: you present the resulting work to an audience.

As a cultural institution or international organisation, you can also apply yourself, provided the Dutch consortium lead is part of the consortium.

What can you do with it?

This funding scheme lets you create new immersive works that use AI and/or immersive technologies. Think of a VR installation for a museum, an AR performance for a festival, or an AI-driven game for a gaming house.

ADRIE funds artistic and design research, exploring a new visual language, developing a prototype, and presenting the work to an audience.

How does it work?

Each ADRIE call runs in two rounds. Round A (€50,000 per consortium, up to 5 consortia) funds a one-year exploration phase. Only consortia that successfully complete this round can proceed to Round B (up to €1,300,000 per consortium) for the production phase.

Budget and conditions

Round A: €50,000 per consortium, no co-financing required

Round B: up to €1,300,000 per consortium, minimum co-financing of €400,000

Total budget across both rounds: €6,750,000

Consortium requirements

At least two parties: a maker and a presenting party. Larger consortia with producers, cultural institutions and international partners are also welcome. If non-Dutch partners are involved, a Dutch consortium lead is required.

New ADRIE application rounds

New application rounds for this funding scheme are expected to follow in 2028-2029.
